You may have read the story on the internet or in the newspaper, Mark. Just because you referenced the incident doesn't necessarily tell me that you actually heard the 911 call.
Mark - you just had to drag it back to the gutter because too much nice - well - it's uncomfortable for you - isn't it? :)
The lady with the chimp is a total loon....she treated that thing as though it is her son. Although she is now denying it, one reporter said that she admitted to giving the creature Xanax (Zanax? however you spell it) becuase it was getting anxious. Hmmmm....chimps on drugs - and we're shock that it went nuts?
Mark - heard some other tales of chimp attacks on humans - they seem to go for extremities - noses/faces, hands and feet, and sometimes well, ouch, other extremities - think Mark's fire ant story. Apparently it is a domination thing - a marking of territory, so-to-speak to go NOT for the jugular........
Latest word on the news is that her house - actually her mom's house - is in danger of foreclosure.
I can't decide if she is the ultimate optimist or completely out of touch with reality....most likely the latter option.
My heart goes out to those babies...how in the world are they going to get what they need to not only survive, but thrive? And I'm not talking "wants" here, like toys. I'm talking needs - like food and attention from their mom and help with their school work, etc.
I do feel that children are blessings...but as such, they should not be sought after if there is not chance that they can be cared for with the reverence such a blessing deserves. She can love all her babies all she wants but she's not going to spend much time with any of them...there's no way. I know how divided my time is between three children.
I haven't been on this site for a long time but it looks like things have gotten political again. I'm shocked, shocked!! And what the hell is going on in Illinois politics?? Mark, Rick or Al - are you getting ready to move back into the state so you can run for the Senate??
Why didnt they shoot the lady instead of the monkey?????
(and how did the other poor lady lose both hands, WTH?????}
LOL! And I just saw a piece on the Animal Channel about rougue chimps. They go for the hands and feet first to "disarm" the enemy and then right for the testicles, if attacking a male! Anybody up for sending Mark a little animal package!!!!
Elisa- I am so with you on that Mom w/ 14 kids. What was she thinking? & what is wrong with the doctor that helped her do this invetro? She couldn't take care of the 6 she already had. Her parents are raising them. But now she goes & has 8 more? & now the state of California is paying for them. She needs to be fixed so she can't have any more!
Elisa, i wish to opine on the lady with all the kids "HER CHEESE IS SLIDING OFF HER CRACKER!"
From everything I have heard,i think "mom" has some emotional issues. there is no dad in the picture and her Mom and Dad have had enough. I am not concerned for her, I am for those kids.
I think 4 of the 6 kids had mental disorders as it was,so yes she is a couple sandwiches short of a picnic!!!
Rich - OUCH! Not too much time - just enjoy a good conversation!
Mark - it is so unfortunate that you cannot really let us know how you feel....you just tip toe around your opinions and we are left to wonder....NOT!!! :)
I think your opinion mirrors most people's although I'm not sure they'd express is so colorfully as you do.
Wacky situation - and agreed (OMG - I am agreeig with Mark) that the kids are ones to be worried about. 3 of the 6 are getting some form of disability. One is autistic. She says one of the others is getting disability for what she said, "uhmmm...let's say it's for like a speech therapy thing." WEIRD RESPONSE and BS because you don't get a disability check when your kid needs speech therapy. You get speech and language services provided to your child. A check won't help the situation, therapy does.
The State of California is already on the verge of bankruptcy....what the heck is that Republican Governor doing out there! (haha - Mark - that was just for you!) Anyway - the State is on the verge of economic ruin. Now they have lots of babies to pay for who will most likely need more state services than the average child.
If anyone feels so inclined to donate to the cause - my whole hearted suggestion would be to send something the babies can use NOT money. Send diapers, baby wipes, clothing, etc. The mom has already demonstrated a lack of fiscal responsibility....so sending money is sending good money after bad. Send THINGS the babies can use.
Mark - I am sure you'll be at the post office today with a jumbo box of diapers to ship off.
