Franchesca Northern

Since high school, I have been working, traveling and have been in business for myself. I decided to return to school and recently completed my master's degree in business with a concentration in accounting. I currently work as a staff accountant for a government contracting firm providing shuttle services for all branches of the government in all 52 states of the nation. I am responsible for the accouting and finances of the company.

I have twins, Ehvan and Eddie (James) who are 25 years old and still in school. My daughter recently completed her master's in education and has applied for the doctorial program in the UNC system. My son is still in undergrad in the physical education department at St. Augustine's University an HBCU.

I have lived in Garner, NC since 1999 and have no plans to leave. Since I lost my father in 2007, my mother added a 3-bedroom addition to the main house where I live with my son (sometimes), because she did not want to live alone. Of course, I handle all of the family finances and investments and am the Executrix of the estate.

On a less serios note, I ride a 2013 CanAm Spyder and a 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, a founding member and Chief Financial Officer of the Original Divas Motorcyle Club, Inc. My road name is Cheska Diva. The ODMC has four chapters located in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, with the mother chapter located in North Carolina. The club lists 23 active members and a 5 member board of directors.

I have so many stories to tell; but my best memories were football games because I was in the band and once the head majorette. I was also a cheerleader so I got to cheer at the basketball games and wrestling matches. I played all sports to include field hockey, basket ball, gymnastics, softball and anything else girls could participate in. I was involved in the Student Government Association and the Girls Athletic Association. I was class president and student council president so I was involved with the best advisors like Gene Rampone. I encouraged active participation to my children as it creates life-long memories as well as life-long friends. Throughout school, my children participated in football, track, swimming and sports medicine and maintain friendships created from elementary school.

The best time I had was my junior and senior year when we won the powder puff football game! Go class of '73.
