April 10, 1959 March 5, 2018 Stephanie M. (Yummy) Brown, formerly of Pulaski, departed this life at his home in Roanoke on Monday, March 5, 2018. Stephanie was born on April 10, 1959 in Pulaski the son of Frank and Elaine Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Brown Sr.; and two brothers, Frank "Jay" Brown and Holland "Tony" Brown. He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School, a past employee of The Southwest Times and proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Stephanie was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and recently took a bus trip to Dallas to visit the home of the Cowboys. Stephanie is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Elaine Brown of Pulaski; devoted sisters and brothers, Mrs. Ruth Lewis of Radford, Ms. Lynn Brown and friend, Joe Edmonds of Radford, Ms. Natalie Brown of Pulaski, Steve (Loraine) Brown and Allen Brown of Pulaski; a special and loving aunt, Mrs. Katherine Lewis of Pulaski; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. Funeral services for Stephanie will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church in Pulaski with Dr. Karen Black officiating. Wow.  After leaving va in 1978 I saw him 1 time In the last 35 years.  He gave me his number which I misplaced.  Last week I tried to locate him on Facebook and couldn’t find him.  He was a great guy and I’m saddened to hear of his passing. Reach out to those while we can. Life is short. Peace to you brother may god bless the family

Steph and I went into the Marine Corps on the buddy plan.  He was always soft spoken and kind. He called me often.  He would always ask about my wife and sons.  I hadn't heard from him in about six months.  Didn't even know he was having any serious health problems.  He will be missed.
