Mike Rolen 72, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away in his home on July 10, 2022 with his family by his side. Mike graduated from Virginia Tech in 1972. He started his career with Pulaski County Public Schools. Mike was an English and U. S. Government teacher. He also coached football and baseball while there. After leaving Pulaski Mike worked in Craig County, Martinsville City Schools, Smyth County, Manassas Park City Schools. After retiring from Virginia Mike started working in New Jersey at Washington Township as an Assistant Superintendent for Special Programs. He retired on 2015 from New Jersey. Mike loved working with children and making sure their rights were protected. His passion in life was his work. He was a gentle, kind and caring individual. A man of few words but loved by all. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lisa Rolen; his daughter, Ashley Showalter and son, Michael Rolen. He will be greatly missed.
