Paul J. White, 52, of 903 Merz St., died at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Chapel services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.  Burial of the cremated remains will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. White worked in the warehouse at the Seig-Dubuque Company for many years. He later worked as a custodian for the Dubuque Community School System.

He was born on October 15, 1948 in Farley, Iowa son of Kenneth W. and Julia B. (Esch) White.

Paul was a graduate of Wahlert High School class of 1966. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War in Korea.

Paul was an accomplished musician.  He played the bass guitar with several local bands over the years. Paul enjoyed tinkering with small-engine repair projects. He liked fishing, hunting and skeet shooting.

Surviving are his mother, Julie B. White, of Dubuque; a sister, Suzie M. (Rick) Williams, of Maquoketa, Iowa; two brothers, Nick J. (Linda) White, of East Dubuque, Ill.; and Tom J. White, of Los Angeles; and nieces and nephews, Molly, Kelly, Jody and Dan White, Ben (Kristy) and Wendy White, and Jennifer (Todd) Shockey, Matt and Joe Williams.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Marty White.
