
Services for Diane M. (Elgin) DeMaio, 42, of Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of Dubuque, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road.
Mrs. DeMaio was a teacher in the Magnolia District School System of Orange County, Calif. She had formerly taught in the Dubuque Community School system until 1979.
She was born on May 23, 1948, in Dubuque, daughter of David and Jeanette (Nelson) Elgin. She died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, July 16, 1990, at Fountain Valley (Calif.) Hospital.
She married Carl J. DeMaio; he survives.
She graduated from the University of Dubuque and received her Master's degree from Clarke College, Dubuque. She lived in Dubuque until 1979.
Also surviving are a daughter, Susan DeMaio of Huntington Beach; two sons, Carl and Christopher DeMaio, both of Huntington Beach; her parents, David and Jeanette Elgin of Dubuque; five sister, Mrs. Kevin (Denice) Rhomberg of Mentor on the Lake, Ohio, Mrs. Jeffrey (Doreen) Barta of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Denette Kellogg and Darla and Darcy Elgin, all of Dubuque; three brothers, David Elign of Cedar Rapids, Dennis Eligin of Seal Beach, Calif., and Dr. Drew Elign of Mequon, Wis.; her maternal grandmother, Esther (Vorwald) Helser of Dubuque; and her paternal step-grandmother, Louise (Hayes) Elgin of Dubuque.
