
Sister Mary Heuer was born August 21, 1914 and departed this life July 2, 2007 in the 74th year of her Religious life.
Sister Mary was born in Fair Point, South Dakota. By the time she was in high school the family had moved to Iowa. Sister Mary entered Mount St. Francis on January 6, 1933. On August 12 of that year she was received with the name Sister Beatrice.
Sister Mary began her teaching career at St. Mary's in Dubuque. She also taught at Melrose Park, Illinois and Garnavillo, Norway, Worthington, Pomeroy, Granville, Cascade, the Dubuque schools of Sacred Heart, Holy Ghost and Wahlert in Iowa and St. Paul, Minnesota. She ended her teaching career at Columbus High School in Waterloo, Iowa.
In 1980 Sister Mary retired to Mount St. Francis and to Holy Family Hall in 1996 where, on July 2 she died peacefully, as she lived. Her kind and gentle presence will be missed by all.
