John Patrick Meloy, born August 22, 1948, died in combat in Vietnam on December 10, 1968.  He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.

He was a member of Alpha Company 1/327th Infantry.  On December 10, 1968, the Company lost three men to enemy gunfire, one of them was John.  He died in Thua Thien, South Vietnam.  His name is on the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C.  The location is Panel 37W, Line 082.

John was the eldest son of Harold P. and Mary Connery Meloy.
