I joined the US Navy in 1989 and got stationed in San Diego aboard the USS Tripoli. I did 3 deployments w/ the Tripoli including an extended deployment to the Gulf for the first Iraq War and a deployment to Somalia during the US conflict there. After 7 years in the Navy, I left active duty, joined the reserves and went back to school. I graduated from San Diego State in 1992 with a Bachelor's in Business. I earned a second Bachelor's in accounting from National University in 2008.
With the Navy Reserves I have completed two deployments, one in the aftermath of 9/11 and the second in 2006 back to Iraq in support of the current conflict. In Iraq, I work directly with the Iraqi Police, providing training as a Liaison Officer.
I still reside in San Diego with my wife, Sonia. I am still in the Navy Reserve and continue work toward my CPA license in California. I have a business providing financial planning, tax services, tax advice and accounting/bookeeping for individuals and small businesses.
