As some of you may recall, I went to Auburn University. I graduated in 1975 then waited for my PHS sweetheart, Lee Anne Burke (LeeAnne now). She graduated in 1976 and we married shorty after her graduation.
After graduation, I took a job with Volkswagen of America, then the importer for Volkswagens, Porsches and Audis. The job took us to Pennsylvania for four years and then to Denver, Colorado for eight. I left the company in 1989.
We briefly returned to Atlanta from 1990 to 1992 when LeeAnne was recruited by Bank of America and we moved to Los Angeles where I got in the car rental business for a short while. LeeAnne got recruited again, this time by a bank in Salt Lake City, Utah. We moved there in 1992.
Once we got to Salt Lake City, I got my second career started in automotive banking. I traveled across the US extensively. At that time being a road warrior was a lot better than traveling on the airlines these days! I was the national marketing director until my early retirement in 1999. LeeAnne continued to work until 2018 after having an amazing career with ZionsBanCorp.
In 2016 we bought land and designed our retirement home in Ketchum Idaho.
We are enjoying hiking, fly fishing, traveling and relaxing.
