Jan Perry Alderton

Got married. Moved to Chicago (only a few months). Moved to California for 5 years. Moved back to Durango. Raised kids. Personal trainer. Lived and taught in Dominican Republic for a year with my family when kids were 6, 10, 12. Learned to speak Spanish. Non-trad student. Graduated from college/multi-cultural communications & education. Owned a restaurant.Taught English & Spanish grades 9, 10. Taught Spanish grades 1-5. Earned a master's degree in Literacy, Language and Culture. Taught 2nd grade. Currently teaching 1st grade. Happily married for 28 1/2 years. In the process of publishing a children's book cowritten with my husband. Spend my summers gardening, hiking, reading and traveling.
