Sadly, Paddy Farrell has just advised me that Andrew Macgregor passed away recently. I have been in touch with his wife Gerda and his daughter Helen and they have given me details of a Celebration Service which will be held for him on Wednesday 3 November at 2PM at Parow Baptist Church, 22 Louis Trichart Street, Parow. Alternatively, you may join the service online using the Microsoft Teams App by emailing Helen at helen@dag.org.za and asking her to send you a link to enable you to connect to the service.

Truly so sorry to hear the news, and so glad that we were in communication relatively recently.
I'll never forget the time when we getting ready for the talent show and Paddy took me into one of the sound-proof rooms to play the bagpipes.
It was quite an experience! You should note that the bagpipes were designed as an "outdoor" instrument. I'll let you connect the dots as to the rest...
You have to be talented to be able to play the pipes - and get in all those grace notes, which create an implied harmony. I'm so glad Paddy let me hear his playing.
What a good-hearted person he was!

In our (Jewish) Tradition we say at a time such as this: "May Paddy's memory always be for blessing and may his soul be bound up in the "bundle of LIfe." (based on1 Samuel 25:29)

Oh wow: I knew he was ill, but did not know it had moved so quickly. I knew Andy (and his brother Stuart) from when they first arrived in Durban from SWA and went to Prep. We had correspnded quite regularly on FB and I was intrigued with his passion for Scotland and his heritage. Rest in Peace buddy...condolences to all the family.
