Comments:
I was married in 1961 to Joe Goode. We had one child, Randy, and adopted another, Steven. I worked at the Lake County Public Library for many years in the Personnel Office, and attended college part time during those years. After separating from Joe in 1989, I continued my education and finished college with a degree in Organizational Management.
I then left LCPL and began work in H. R. at Jernberg Ind., in Chicago. After five years I left Jernberg and took an H.R. Management position with the Levolor Blinds division of NewellRubbermaid, in South Holland, IL. In 2001, the South Holland facility was closed, and I was offered a transfer to Pennsylvania. At the same time, I was offered an opportunity with a small, growing manufacturer of steel building components, that needed to create a Human Resource function, and coordinate Plant Management positions. Rather than relocate to Pennsylvania, I stayed in Illinois, and took the position with Superior Truss & Panel, in Homewood, IL. I am now semi-retired (but still active from home or office) from this company.
Parallel to my career in H.R., I also became a certified fitness professional, and have worked in this field for the past 20 years.
I work at various health clubs in the area (OMNI 41 mostly) instructing classes in Pilates, resistance training, step training, and senior formats. THIS IS MY FUN JOB!
I've traveled often, still keep in touch with many of my classmates, and look forward to the luncheons that we have from time to time. I enjoy family group trips, and time with the members of my family still in Schererville, and the frequent visits from my son.
My brother Jack is retired in Florida, He will be visiting here in July, and I plan to visit him there next Christmas.
My brother Ed, is retired in Texas, and he will be here in July also.
So while my family is spread across the U.S., it's also been an opportunity to travel & visit.
I look forward to seeing EVERYONE at the reunion!!
