I have traveled, worked and lived in many places across the US. I've gone to school at SIPI, Albuq. TVI and Rapid City National College of Business.
One of the highlights of my life was that I got to work for the Senate Select Committee on Indian Affairs in Washington DC when Senator Abourezk was in office.
I worked at the CEB Dorms as a Homeliving Assistant for approx. 8 years and then as a Dorm Manager for the IRG program for 4 years. The past 3 years I was the Director of the Tots-N-Toddlers Daycare at the VA in Hot Springs, SD.
I have moved back to Eagle Butte this year (2009), 4 days before Christmas and just in time for the winter storms of 2009 and 2010!! I have just graduated from the Four Bands C.R.E.A.T.E. class (Cheyenne River Entrepreneurial Assistance Training and Education) and plan to open a home-based business creating "dogtag" pendant/jewelry using customers personal photos of family, friends and pets that can be engraved onto them.
I have 5 wonderful children and 11 fantastic grandchildren.
I have been away from, and returned to Eagle Butte many times since I graduated in 1969, but this has been the longest I've been away....9 years. I am happy to be back and have seen many friends since my return. I am looking forward to reconnecting with more friends and classmates during the reunion.
One of my favorite memories was when Edith Jewett, Ethel (Tessie) Thompson and myself entered the talent contest and sang two songs, "Cold, Cold Heart" and "Forever and Ever". Edie and I were Freshman and Tessie was a Sophmore. And we won 1st place!! It was awesome!
