Janice G. Dalrymple Stem, 86, of Easton passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024. She passed exactly 10 months to the day after her husband, Bob Stem passed on September 29, 2023.
Janice was born on June 11,1938 in Easton, PA and was the daughter of the late Ira and Josephine Dalrymple.
She was married to the love of her life, Bob, for 60 years before his death. She graduated from Easton High School in 1956. After High School, she worked at Bell Telephone Company of Easton until becoming a stay-at-home mom to her four children. Once her children were grown, Jan worked as a daycare teacher at Palmer Moravian Day School. Football was a family affair for the Stems. While Bob was coaching, Jan became the head cheerleading coach for 19 years at Bethlehem Catholic High School and 17 years for the McDonald’s All-Star Football game. She was inducted into the McDonald’s All-Star football game Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Bethlehem Catholic Wall of Fame in 2022 for her contributions to cheerleading at Becahi and the Lehigh Valley. She attended every high school football game her husband coached during his entire career, which included over 300 games. She was his biggest supporter and cheerleader.
Jan and Bob did everything together, they even shared one car their entire marriage. She enjoyed making dinner for her family on Monday nights for over twenty years. Janice was bubbly, friendly and a force of nature. She made everyone feel special and was a maternal figure to many. Jan and Bob had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them going to the casino and attending high school football games. During the six years of Bob’s illness, she was his loving caregiver and never left his side.
