Santa Jane Stewart Obituary

Santa Jane (Patti) Stewart was called home to the Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Easton, PA on January 1, 1939, to the late Angelina (Torre) and Joseph Patti, she was the eldest of three girls. 

Santa always longed to be an elementary school teacher and worked to put herself through college, graduating from Kutztown College in 1960. As her teaching career began so did her relationship with fellow teacher, Harley Stewart, Jr. The two married in August of 1960. As educators, they positively touched the lives of hundreds of students in the Allentown School District for decades.

Together they also loved raising a beautiful family. Terie Stewart Carrick (husband Ken deceased, partner Hank Epperson), Michael (Stew) Stewart, (wife Lucy Vizzoni), Barry Stewart (wife Carol Motsko), and son Frank Stewart (predeceased).

Santa’s greatest joy in life was having friends and family gather round her oversized dining room table sharing in conversation, laughter and a meal she prepared. She loved to bake and made hundreds of chocolate cakes, coffee cakes and specialty (decorated) cakes for her grandchildren. She also crocheted each of them college-colored blankets and filled a wall full of photo albums over the years, to preserve those precious memories.

Harley and her traveled across the United States in the days of paper maps, across Europe by rail, to Australia and took numerous cruises with dear friends. Avid Disney fans, they also lived in a Florida golf community during many of their retirement years.

Santa was a lifelong practicing catholic and was involved in a plethora of clubs, activities, and volunteerism throughout her life.

Grandchildren: Samantha Carrick Bowlin (husband Hal), Chance Carrick (wife Danielle), Corey Carrick (wife Kyle), Morgan Stewart McNeely (husband Tad), Kristin Stewart, Frank Stewart and Megan Stewart (fiancé Brandon).

Great-Grandchildren: Mackenzie, Olivia, Emily and Davis Bowlin and Jace McNeely.

Sisters: Rosemarie Kovacs (husband Ernie) and predeceased Angela Corallo (husband Sal). Niece like a daughter: Patricia (Pat) Stewart Weibel (husband Barry). Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, students and friends touched their lives. Santa and Harley (deceased 2023) also felt blessed to have over eighty years of experiences, friendships, adventures, and most importantly love and a relationship with God.

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Saint Elizabeth Church, Whitehall. Calling hours 10:00AM to 11:00AM, Catholic Mass 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to LVHN Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project.
