Thomas 'Tony' Gaines EASTON Thomas "Tony" Gaines, 78, of Easton, PA., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born Jan. 29, 1939 in Easton, he was a son of the late Thomas and Christine (Lineberger) Gaines. He and his wife, Lillian (Freeman) Gaines, were married 54 years. Tony worked for Laborers Union, Local 1174. Prior to that, he was an Easton police officer . He served in the Marines and was a member of American Legion, Lester Pfeffer Post 611, Easton, and the Marine Corps League, Northampton County Detachment. Surviving, with his wife, Lillian, are a son, Joseph "Tim" Freeman; a sister, Joyce Martinez; a brother, Richard Lovell; four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. His son, David Freeman, died earlier this year. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at the American Legion, Lester Pfeffer Post 611, 429 S. 16th St., Easton.
