Married in 1963, widowed in 1996. Now married to late husband's older brother, Gayl.
Seven beautiful grandchildren, ages 25, 24. 17, 15, 11, 9 and 5. I tell people that I have 1 "pre-made" (a step-grandaughter), 5 "home-made" (birth children of my daughters), and 1 "heart-made" (a grandaughter adopted from India). All of them in WI, and I'm in CA!
I can't be that old!!! I feel like a teenager yet--until I try to move!!
This year I was the "grandmother of the groom". My daughter also became a "mother-in-law"! Don't know which made me feel older!
Nursing school, Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing, in Minneapolis. Graduated in 1963. Spent 40 yrs in nursing and decided that was enough.
I sew blankets and clothes for poor children in Mexico and San Diego. I also knit stocking caps for them. Some of these babies die of the cold due to their poor living conditions, and I just can't stand by and do nothing to help in some small way.
Late husband, Jim, and I had a 1958 Ford Skyliner retractable hardtop. Lots of car shows and lots of trophies. A real beauty!!
Spent a week horse back riding in the Colorado Rockies. Not much to beat being at the top of a mountain with a 360 view of the world below!!
Helped my husband build an airplane in our garage. It has now been sold so I get the garage back!!!
My two daughters and what they have accomplished with their lives.
McKinley grade school in town of Seymour. Helped Norma (Hanson) Bohman put together a "reunion" of McKinley class the nite before the 45th Memorial reunion. Our guest of honor was our first grade teacher, Mrs. Olga Martin! Hope to do it again before the 50th.
The Hoot and Sammy's pizza.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider all others better than yourself.
My faith, my family, and my friends. How sad life would be without them.
Accept responsibility for your own actions. What you do or don't do is up to you and you alone.

Mrs. Martin had 30 children in her class. No teacher's aide, no volunteer help. And no misbehaving!! Plus she had 2 different grades to juggle. Quite a lady!!
