STEVEN TURNBULL of Chicago died Aug. 30, 2014, at age 66. After graduating from Edina (Minn.) High School in 1966, he enrolled at Luther, where he majored in English. After his Luther graduation, Steve joined the U.S. Navy, reporting to Aviation Officers’ Candidate School. He earned his commission as a naval officer in October 1970 and his navigator wings in April 1971. Steve spent his naval career in the P3 Orion community, from 1971-90, stationed in California, Virginia, Maine, Spain, and Illinois. He received an M.B.A. from Roosevelt University in 1976. Steve retired with the rank of commander and is interred at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. He is survived by three sons—Scott, Jeffrey, and Peter (Merrily)—and by a grandson.
