Pauline (Polly) Hull (Conn)

Carol was a  friend of mine from grade school through high school. Her many surgeries and struggles with polio made her a strong adult. I hadn't seen her since high school. Here is her obit. I'm happy to see she had such a full life.

Carol Janice Rodning, Ph.D. died in Davis, California on Thursday, January 27, 2005, at the age of 56.Born in and raised near Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carol earned her B.A. degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, her M.A. degree from the University of Chicago and her Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of California, Los Angeles. After spending several years in education and on the faculty at UCLA, she joined in 1992 the faculty of the University of California, Davis in the Department of Human and Community Development.Outside of her professional and academic achievements, Carol was an active member of St. Martin¹s Episcopal Church in Davis and served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. Carol also was a gifted quilter and enjoyed creating quilts for her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend and will be dearly missed.Carol is survived by her father, Selmer Bernard Rodning and his wife, Inez Rodning, both of Sun City, Arizona; her sister, Carla Joy Rodning of Davis, California; her brother, Dr. Charles B. Rodning, and his wife Mary Rodning, both of Semmes, Alabama; her children: Kari Kristina Munro and her husband Devon Munro of Fincastle, Virginia; Annelise Britt Lucas and her husband Donald Lucas of Charlottesville, Virginia; Paul Eirik Otteson of Northfield, Minnesota; and her grandchildren: Dane Kristian Chandler, Logan Carl Lucas and Jorun Britt Lucas.Carol wished that any donations offered in her memory be made to St. Martin¹s Episcopal Church or to Yolo Hospice in Davis, California.

Also, enjoyed each others weddings, kids, parentts. etc!!  She died the day after my birthday.  Towards the end, we did lost contact with each other, but great memories will never go away.      Kay Erickson
