Donna Lynne (Sexton) Smith

Donna Lynne (Sexton) Smith was born August 31, 1964 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Earl and Ann Sexton. She passed away suddenly on June 24, 2007 in Edmond, Oklahoma. While a young girl, Donna loved to go hunting with her father, as she was definitely her 'father's daughter'. She had a love for animals that extended into her high school years when she showed sheep for the Edmond FFA. That love for animals showed every time she came home with a stray dog. One of her other passions was country dancing. She and her good friend, John, could do the swing like no other could ever do. But her main passions in life were her two sons, Dustin and Justin. Donna had recently begun attending church at Henderson Hills in Edmond and teaching her two nieces how to paint and make jewelry, which brought a lot of peace and happiness to her. Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Houston and Odessa Smith of Sylacauga, Alabama; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Marie Sexton of Sycamore, Alabama; husband, Tracy Smith ol Edmond; and niece, Kayci Pickard of Oklahoma City, she is survived by her two sons, Dustin and Justin Smith; daughter-in-law, Miranda Smith; parents, Earl and Ann Sexton; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Kevin Pickard, and nieces, Kayla and Kaitlyn Pickard, all of Edmond; and nephew, Perry Pickard of Dallas, TX; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, Oklahoma. Burial/interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
