Holly Lynn “Lou” Webb Parks, age 60, of Edmond, OK went home Sunday, June 9, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family. Holly was born February 7, 1964 in Guthrie, OK to Doyle and Ann Webb Sr. She graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1982. Marrying her high school sweetheart Jay Parks, on June 7, 1985, they embarked on a 39 year adventure full of love and laughter. After helping Jay achieve his CPA license, Holly attended the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in accounting and achieved her CPA license. Together Holly and Jay built a successful accounting practice. Holly was the backbone of the growth and opportunities for the practice because of her work ethic and innovative management style. She was a hard worker and loved engaging and serving her clients, all while balancing being a mother, a wife, and an entrepreneur.
Holly was a loving and dedicated mother to her son Colby and daughter Mackenzie. Always there with a listening ear and thoughtful advice. She provided the strength her family needed with a gentle and compassionate grace, never seeking the spotlight, but always a beacon of light. Holly loved her role as a grandmother and relished any time spent watching them play, learn, and grow. They were all perfect in Mimi’s eyes.
Family was the center of Holly’s life. Never missing an opportunity to be with family and extended family, she loved her role as baby sister to Ed and second mom to whom the family referred lovingly as her “much younger sister” Jane. Laugher was always at the center of their time together.
Dedicated to serving both God and her community, Holly was a member of the Edmond Church of Christ for over 30 years. Fluent in Spanish, Holly traveled to Nicaragua more than ten times, teaching Sunday School and working with the children and families of those communities. She also served the local Edmond community providing marriage mentoring and ministry along with her husband, Jay.
Holly’s love of helping others led her to pursue training as a mental health counselor. Beginning a new chapter in her life she earned a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2015. As her training came to a close, Holly started to notice something was not quite right. For the next 2 years, she went from doctor to doctor attempting to understand the source of her cognitive decline. In 2018 Holly was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and began the greatest fight of her life. A kind and loving spirit, the disease was never able to take her essence. All those who knew and cared for her never forgot her beautiful smile and playful spirit.
Holly was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Webb Sr and nieces Ashley Parks and Becky Hays.
Holly is survived by husband Jay Parks, son Colby Parks and his wife Kayla, daughter Mackenzie O’Mealey, her husband Chris, grandchildren Lanie, Caden, Cassidy, Jaxen, and Declan. She is also survived by her mother, Ann Webb, brother Ed Webb and his wife Jan, and sister Jane Webb. Holly will be missed by so many, including uncles, aunts, cousins, and many many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff at Iris Memory Care who so lovingly cared for Holly. Your kindness, compassion, and support did not go unnoticed.
