Paul meant a lot to me the last few years of his life. Such a kind and wonderful man. Horrible loss to all that knew him.

Paul was one of my best friends ever. I have known Paul since 1967. He was always kind and generous. We experienced a lot together and stayed close throughout the years. In 1977 we spent almost a month in Mexico, riding trains, buses, boats, motorcycles and taxis. We slept on sidewalks, went scuba diving and even had occasion to run from Mexican police. We had FUN! In the 1980's we took dive trips together to Mexico, the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. In the 1990's he brought his family to Florida on vacation, where we got together for sailing trips, trips to the theme parks, visits and seafood dinners. Paul was one of the kindest people I've ever known and I miss him.

Paul was a really nice guy. His death was horrible--I remember thinking, OMG, why him? It is not for us to question the death of a friend as it is for us to follow the path God has designed for us. Paul is missed.

For those interested, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the case of the convicted killer of Paul Howell. His attorneys argued that race played a role in his death sentence and appealed because a Federal judge (who was a prosecutor at the time) said he deserved the death penalty.
As reported in the media, “There was ample evidence for a rational jury to find that his client, Julius Darius Jones, brutally gunned down an innocent stranger, Paul Scott Howell, in the driveway of his parents’ home with his children present, and that Jones deserved to die for his acts,” Holmes wrote.
Holmes did not have a role in the criminal trial, and did not author the panel’s decision in the appeal. (http://newsok.com/article/5389322)
Sounds like justice will finally be served.
