Mr. Loya...Mr. Loya...Mr. Loya...,

After all these years, it is good to see that you still talk a big game (which in fact is whole lot more than your actual game)!!! You just hobo your way back to El Paso and Bart and I will take care of the rest. If doughnuts are all that it takes to get you over here, I'll have all the doughnuts you can handle and more. Bart will still play the post (whether it be the low post, the high post, the mid post, or whatever post) and take you to school as he always did and will continue to do. And when Bart gets tired of scoring, I'll take over and rain the threes all day. Just get in touch with your buddy Coronado (aka Wheaties) and Bart and I will refresh your memory on who actually received the demoralizing losses.

Jeff, you need to get in touch with Coronado to give him the heads up on what his buddy Loya is getting him into. I'm pretty sure he will not be pleased...

New field? New uniforms? Holy cow... the thought of doing bear crawls on that stuff we tried to pass as grass in the middle of the summer gives me nightmares, particularly pulling out those stickers from your hands... hearing that these kids now have a new field and as Mario describes as Cal Berkeley style uniforms, which are f@E#ng cool, I can't help but say I am jealous. After wearing hand me down Claytex and Pony cleets, this sounds awesome. Now, is the team at least winning?

06/12/08 03:10 PM #254

Mario Loya

Rick,

I too have those recuring nightmares. Running triangles in 100 degree weather after a 2-a-day practice. And if you thought the Pony cleets were bad, remember the one year we had E.P.I.S.D cleats. Someone in the school district must have been receiving kickbacks.
The team has not yet improved, however, I am hopeful that it's going to happen after all of these changes. Remember how bad the New England Patriots were when they had that awful logo on their helmets. Look at them now.

Andrew Imai

Mario,

What do you mean look at the Patriots now...they CHOKED at the Super Bowl!!!!

06/12/08 05:25 PM #256

Rik Avalos

Go Cowboys! Tony's going to kick some tail this year.

06/12/08 05:25 PM #257

Rik Avalos

Patriots choke sounded a little like a Garfield coughing up a hairball... :)

Jeff Brewer

will do Andrew! Most definitely need to get Coronado in the middle of all this...laughing.

And if you all didnt know Mario's nephew was the quarterback last season at BURGES!

Ok committee I am assuming that classmates are starting to receive the flyers in the mail. I stopped by Omar Iglesias house today and he notified me, he had indeed received one in the mail. Great job Evelyn!

Also I stopped by Coronado's house today and no one there but left a flyer regarding the reunion. And a note about the trash talking...laughing.

Christine Seelig

Man you all have me laughing hard, my co-workers want to know what the hell is going on. I won't tell them they can think I'm crazy, hell I don't care. Wow trash talking is the best but when you can back it up its even sweeter. So who really won the Barrueta/Imai vs. Loya/Coronado battle? Hell if beer were involved it would be a fight till death!

Jeff any word on Jennifer Shukitt?

Alma, I think we could take on the volleyball team from Burges. Connie Vaughn is still coaching and hasn't changed other than the white hair. She still turns RED when mad and yells 80% of the time. You, Mirella, Jen, Vanessa and I could take them on, can anyone still spike? After shoulder surgery I can barely serve overhand. I can set it up with Connie.

Edna, we need to find a way to get the sports pics of us girls and guys and post them at reunion. Talk about AQUANET!!! Boy nothing could penetrate the HAIR!!!

06/13/08 06:45 PM #261

Rene Lopez

Chris-

don't say nothing about AQUANET, I still use that "stuff". When it comes to hairspray is just more bang for the buck...but then again maybe it is the reason why my hair loss is so prominent...

06/13/08 08:57 PM #262

Jeff Brewer

hey Chris, Just hung up with Jennifer and she gave me her email address to send the website to her... so hopefully we here from her in the coming days... :0)

Also sent website address to Michael Barrett... rumor is..he cut off all the hair?!

Hi guys..... Don't think I am weird...but i am saddened by the death of Tim Russert. Anyone else a Tim Russert fan. I love politics and i loved Meet the Press.

06/13/08 11:06 PM #264

Jeff Brewer

Any death by a celebrity, especially one that your a fan of, will have some effect on you.... So not weird at all!

06/13/08 11:32 PM #265

Rebecca Zambrano (Morales)

Thanks Jeff. See you soon

06/14/08 11:17 AM #266

Melissa Mendez (Thompson)

Not weird at all Becky... I agree with Jeff, hope today is feeling a little more sunny : )

Ok everyone, I registered, finally... but I have a question, the graph that shows you how many have actually paid and registered is very low, VERY VERY LOW, is this true? Im guilty of waiting too long to register, but ouch we all better get on it because I think this makes it harder on our wonderful group who is working super hard to get all this done.

So... if you are on here and plan on attending REGISTER PLEASE : )

06/14/08 05:18 PM #268

Patricia Imai (Villegas)

Thank you Melissa for saying what the committee would like to say. It's wonderful to have everyone connecting on the site, but it would be even better for us to start seeing some cash flow our way. We are getting to some points where deposits and other "special touches" are needing to get paid. We want this to a very special event, something we will always remember!! :)

Guys, I will miss seeing you all this reunion. Unfortunately, my father's deteriorating health has led my brothers and I to plan a trip to spend with Dad and the only weekend it makes sense to do so is Memorial Day weekend, otherwise, I would have already ponied up some dough. I would like to say that this website has been very, very, cool, particularly being able to catch up with friends and make new ones with old classmates who now live in the bay area. I hope to catch a rain check for a beer and great conversation with all of you who still live in EP, when I visit my folks!

06/15/08 01:39 PM #270

Jeff Brewer

And I would like to wish all a Happy Father's Day!

06/15/08 04:07 PM #271

Rebecca Zambrano (Morales)

I signed up......I challenge the procrastinators like me to do the same

06/16/08 05:36 PM #272

Andrew Imai

Hey Chris-responding to your previous post, the games Bart and I played against Loya and Coronado were not "battles" since we could score at will. The games were more more like "tune-ups" for our "battles" against Mike Swopes and Ray Chavira as they could back up their trash talk.

On a different note, Patsy, you will be happy to know that I took Becky's challenge and signed up for the reunion. I left a message with Maribel to get her the payment.

Mario, well...nevermind...Bart and I will just have to wait and see if you show up...remember, the offer for the doughnuts still stands

Hope all are well. How are things? Rene, heard from George?? By the way... Que onda Sexo!?!?!? Edna, please give me time and I will be sending donations. I just got back from Iraq (for the LAST TIME!!) and I need to speak to my wife about making plans to attend.

06/16/08 08:16 PM #274

Rebecca Zambrano (Morales)

Wow!!!!!Maybe I should run for office. I am so influential. Ok for the next 5 people that sign up within the next 2 days i will send you $10. Edna, you can let me know who I owe. I will match that amount in a donation to the reunion donation/ scholarship fund. Offer ends 6/18/08 6:23pm El Paso Time.

Tanya BOrunda: "*I remember having to pick up toilet paper from my yard, frequently. Thank you ('86)Pete, Gino, Tury, ('88)Charlie. This is also my folks memory of my high shcool days. Some nights it included construction signs"

Tanya,
I must confess, I too was at the toilet papering of your house and the construction sign placement. It was all because you were loved.........trust me. So nice to see that you're doing well. I left Albuquerque, NM about 3 years ago....miss it dearly. Too bad never knew you were around. I thought I was all alone out there. Hope to see you at our reunion. LOL Adriana

Que ondas sexo!? jaja!

I'm glad to hear from you man! About four years ago I bumped into George and we got together a couple of times. He's crazy...he was so proud of how I used to call him whenever I wanted to get rid of Lorena and how he was always getting me in trouble at school. After moving from Juarez to El Paso, I lost track of him and never heard from him again.

You have to make it to the reunion Joe...quizas todavia estemos en edad de tirar sexo! jaja!
