For all that where there on Thursday, Lisa and I have not had a good time like that in a long time. It was really good to see everyone. I hope you all had as good a time as we did. I have a couple more pictures to put up but we lost our cable to connect the camera to the pc so I need to go and get a card reader.

Cant wait to see you all again for Labor Day weekend.
I tell you all what though. Hangovers really hurt more than they used to!!!!!! Again, it was truly a pleasure to hang with all that went and lets do that again!

Wow! Just how cool is the internet in making things like this so much better?! It’s great to read everyone's messages and get caught up on what's been taking place the past 20 years… it’s hard to believe it's been that long. To the committee members and those helping to look up fellow classmates, it’s been said by many others in these messages, but many, many thanks for the hard work you all have put in!
It sounds like the get together in El Paso was a success. If anyone’s interested I’d like to get those in the Central Texas area (Austin/San Antonio – and, of course, anyone else from the Class of 1988 is welcome too) together for some dinner and drinks and talk about the old times, the parties, the sports/groups, the big hair, and whatever else. In reading these messages it’s pretty clear I missed out on (or forgot about) quite a lot…

Mike! How the heck have you been! My former fiance from kindergarden! (I know I know......a tired subject between you, me, and Cindy Ramirez but that's still how I think of you........ my former fiance from kindergarden!)

I have to tell you all that my husband is also having his 20th reunion this summer in Santa Cruz, CA and they too have a website... however, it is nothing compared to ours. There is no forum and they have only two pics "then" and "now". There is no music and it just pales in comparison. Thank you again Edna and team for our little "virtual pub"!

Liz, yes I definitely remember you and I in the big apple back in 8th grade. Ah those were the days... we were 13 and roaming the steets of NY outside my step dad's office. Remember he gave us each $100 and we went to get pizza and then to the shubert theatre to see a Chorus Line... wow that was an awesome memory.

Ray and Liz, thank you for your reminding me how NY is so not above the reunion and I am going to see what I can do today to make El Paso happen.

Well you all look like you had an amazing time last Thursday, wish that I could have been there.

Lisa, of course I will send you those, can you email me your email address (mine is missyneumann@gmail.com).

Becky and Liz, well if I can make it to El Paso, we will be forced to retrace our steps of junior year. That means Liz you must tag every scenario to a song and Becky... oh Becky well remember us getting the free case of beer from the beer truck in exchange for a false phone number ha ha!

Ok, now that I am all caught up...Happy Monday everyone!

Hey Becky,

Can you elaborate on the misconception you're trying to clear up? You "do" or "do not" sell couples toys? I only got that it wasn't "full-time". If you do, where's the website so we can check out your stock, and if you don't, well... I guess I'm sticking to my regular supplier.

LOL

: ) ok, well I guess Im forgetting things these days. That was the beginning of our era wasn't it?

I remember Tejas parties and the first time we met Becky... remember? That was Homecoming... you punched your fist through my window to get into my house (think I lost my keys). It was you, Susie, Martha, and who else?

Yes, those fish bought your bait, hook line and sinker. I don't recall who were the benefactors of your score though. Who did we embibe with? Of course, this was Pre-James era. You would never go out on your boyfriend. It wasn't susie and Martha. I believe it was you and me. Thats when we met and fell in love :).

Mary Gonzalez (Henderson)

Wow, you guys look like you had such a fun time the other night!!! I'm jealous!

OK, Becky, where was your site when I was planning various bachelorette and girlfriends' birthday parties?
;)

And I agree Melissa -- my husband's 20th reunion was so lame compared to this! Actually, I'm sure most are -- this site has been an incredibe way of reconnecting. I hope everyone continues to stay in touch after September. I'm sure lots of us will be in El Paso during the Christmas/New Years holidays -- maybe we can have another get together then?

Vanessa -- it was so nice to see you on here! How are your folks doing?

I thought I would send some info for those in the Austin and surrounding area. There is a local social club for El Pasoans now living in Austin. They host events and have one coming up this weekend. It's a great way to meet people from El Paso. Here is the link if your interested http://www.elpasosocial.net/. Please let me know if your attending. It would be great to see my fellow Class of 88 alumni.

Lonnie Arreola (Casillas)

Yes, Chris, I am alive and well. Sorry it took me so long to chat. It is nice to know people actually remember you. How have you been?

07/07/08 07:32 PM #569

Christine Seelig

Doing well, didn't realize you were still in El Paso. Give me a call sometime 915-253-9217 and let's have lunch or something sometime. How can I forget you? You made my high school years a blast with all the laughter. How about you join us next weekend? Some of us are gonna get together again. That might bring out some of you all that were not able to come out to the last one.

Vivian, that's an interesting site! who knew that there was a society for ex el pasoans :)

I did spoke with one of the members of the League of Ex Presidents, aka Mike Worley. We'd like to get together with some folks soon. I've already had lunch with Juan Macias, tried to schedule another time to get together with Victor Nunez, would like to contact Dominic and Patrick Meza. I know that Susan Sena is down in Kyle and Marty is in Austin, as well. I'm sure some others are out there.

I get to go on a long flight to Kona, HI, tomorrow for 10 days *woot!* so i'll be away from this site for awhile, so don't schedule anything for the next 10 days at least! Perhaps some DFW folks can come down, too, some weekend?

aloha!

Hey Rik, glad to hear you’ll be making the reunion! I hope your Dad is doing well and I hope your Mom is handling things well too. It’s tough watching your parents age. My Dad is in his 80s and my Mom will be there soon… Have you contacted Toby yet to get some practice in before Labor Day? I’m going to see about grabbing some lunch with him next week. I remember in the early 90s that on New Years Eve it was always a requirement to see you and the band play at Toulouse or Maggies. Never caught you at Steamboat, but sure do miss the old 6th street…

And Christine – your memory is too good… I wish in high school and college I was the player in Kindergarten you make me out to be… ;-)
You’ve been in Colorado for a while now, right? I was up there in February and I may be up there again in September. I recall we emailed a few years ago, but I’m lost in how we got connected then. Nonetheless, your world travels are quite spectacular! Can’t wait to catch up.

Vivian, thanks for the info on the ELP group in Austin. I’ve got plans for Saturday night, but will see if I can swing by. Sounds like if this week’s get together is missed, it’ll be a long while before the next. With the folks in San Antonio and Austin, we should try getting together in San Marcos or something. Maybe in a couple of weeks?

Jeff Brewer, you said you may be game for making a trip. Might just have to put you to the test… That goes for anyone else out there too.

Alvarez, you can visit your folks, drop off your kids and then haul your bad self on down the road, right? With the pictures Loya put up, you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do…

Joe Santos, glad you made it back. My hat’s off to you and all your fellow soldiers for putting yourself on the line and to your families for staying strong throughout your deployments. I remember Patrick Meza talking about going to Kuwait back in the early 90’s. It was great to see him 10 years ago and hope to see you and him in a month and a half.

Someone asked about Shelly Ramos earlier. She’s a teacher down in the Austin area. I’ve seen her a couple of times in the past few years. If no one’s made contact with her, I can do some checking.

Mike, there's something I will always remember about you... your honesty and sincerity and it meant a lot to read your post. It's no wonder we voted you Class President, and it appears nothing has changed since!

Thanks a million!

I'll be back in Denver 4SEP until 25Sep so please let me know when you are in Colorado and we will have a Rocky Mountain Burges Reunion since I can't make the actual one in El Paso. Sheesh, everybody, please eat some Chico's for me! God, I miss that place!

Christine...I can understand your fascination with chicos tacos. I myself had to learn to make them. If you want my version of chicos tacos. I can post the recipe. Its pretty darn close. we usually pick up crinkle fries to drown them in the sauce after we eat the tacos..

Cristine Marie Hafen

Rebecca! Oh, yes please post that recipie. I have a cousin that came close but they weren't quite the same......something about Costco flautas with the WIC government issued cheese product, grated.....but we couldn't get the sauce right!
