Say hi to "BUZZ" for me, but unfortunately I am going in at 10 pm and will be asleep at that time. I will also miss the reunion unfortunatly due to scheduling conflicts. I am going to take the kids to Houston to see their aunt before school starts, I paid for my part so if anyone wants it, claim it. I am sad I am going to miss but family is first. I am going to see Claudia Ramos (Palko) on thursday when she comes in so if anyone is interested we can make another quick meet then.

Hello Everyone,

It is obvious that I wont be able to attend, but it is nice to hear from good old friends. Our return date keeps being pushed back. We were suppose to be home first week of July. I Hope everyone has a wonderful time and a safe one too! John S., thanks brother for keeping us in mind. Everyone out here was appreciative of your comments. Had to print out your last message and posted it up on our wall. Can't wait to see some pics. Buzz, when you coming back to the FOB? God Bless Everyone,

Nasser

Nasser - we will be thinking of you and all the troops that are away from your homes. We all know that it is because of what you, Basilio, and all our other classmates and military personnel do, that allows us to have our class reunions, family reunions, and family vacations. You all sacrifice everything so that we can enjoy the freedom that we have everyday. We appreciate and love all of you so much and please wish everyone the very best from all of us and let them know that you are always in our prayers. We love and miss all of you!!!

I just saw where Theda Wright, long time math teacher at Irvin and Gene Wright's mother, passed away earlier this year on January 24. She taught at Irvin from 64-68 and 78-93.

Basilio, Nasser and to all our classmates out in harms way serving our great nation, "THANK YOU" for your service. I personally know how difficult those times can be. We will definitely miss you at the re-union, but know that our prayers are with you and we wish you a quick and safe return.

Like Jose Caldron, I would like to thank everyone who has served and are currently serving in the military. Having spend seven years (all good) in the Air Force I appreciate the sacrifices that sometimes have to be made when you are serving our country. THANK YOU!
p.s. I am meeting with Adrian Guerrero, Lory Mendez and Laura Gilliland on Thursday night (time and place yet to be set) so if anyone wants to join us just give me a call.

Hi Basilio,
just wanted to say "thank you" for serving our country. It means a lot to my family and me that we know many "HEROES" living near Ft. Bliss, because that what you are. Our freedoms we owe to the men and women who serve our country. Please let everyone that serves with you that we are forever grateful and wish you a safe return back home. God Bless you all...Blanca

Hey New topic,
do you think we should consider like a phone-in or phone-out to those alumni that couldn't make it. I know it's
late in the game, but if we could hook up a phone connection to a pa system we could just call out or let
alumni know that they call in during the reunion for a
quick hi. Yea, Nay? Samantha?

Hey everyone!! Last night's mixer was AWESOME!! I had a great time seeing everyone who attended, getting to give out and receive hugs, and share lots of memories with you all. I will not be attending the main event but I'm sure that it will be just as fun. For those of you who traveled into EP, have a safe trip back to wherever home is for you and visit us again soon. For those of you who couldn't join us, I hope to see you at the next one!! For Samantha and Lory, you ladies did a wonderful job with the mixer preparations and I'm sure the rest of the events will be just as organized and well planned. Thank you girls for your time, you gave me back many great memories of people and things that I had forgotten. I hope that this website continues to exist and to be visited post reunion. It's been a great way to reconnect and stay in touch with friends.

Class of 1989, congrats on an awesome 20TH. Seeing all of you brought back wonderful memories. To look into all of your eyes, well, those of you who could keep them open, just kidding, to see the happiness, joy and the same person I've known for over 20 years, made me feel proud to call you all my friend's. It's an incredible feeling, having known all of you. Believe me when I say, I appreciate you. I have a terrific and memorable moment for each of you.

Princess, watching you dance after school, the show we put on for the school. Bubba, hallin' ass down the basketball court, posting and scoring. Perla, you receiving the Most Athletic Award. Juan Duran running 65 yards for a touch down against Bel Air High. Blanca, seeing your fantastic art work and how proud of it you were. " Big " John Swish, laughing with you every time your little brothers' did something stupid..correction didn't do something stupid and get into trouble. Brig, the last days of school, and you came to interview me. I was floored, proud, and you made me feel important for those few minutes. Nasser, our baseball games. Friendly, however, we both wanted to beat each other so badly. Lisa, never did we have the same conversation twice.

I thank you for sharing with me, remembering me and letting me into your lives, when you did.

To you, Class Of 1989, I raise my glass and say " Salud." God bless you and yours, always.

Ok, so we're sitting outside at Marco Polos with Princess, Laura & Joe and we're talking about this crazy Halloween party we had a couple years ago. We have themed parties every year. We had an 80's one. I found some pictures & was showing them of Victor dressed up as Prince. We really had so much fun, had such a great time at that party. We decided we're going to have an 80's Themed Halloween Party this year and would like to invite everyone. Please let us know if you'll be able to come so I can figure out the food, drinks etc... But, you have to dress up!! 80's will be a ton of fun & we all remember the 80's well!! I'll ask Victor and see if he'll let me post some of those photos of him as prince. It was awesome the costume he came up with!!

The reunion was so much fun! We had such a fantastic time. Sam, you and Lory did such an awesome job in putting everything together & thank you for leaving up this website so we can all keep in touch.

Kudos to Samantha and Lory for putting on such an awesome event. All of the little details from the door prizes to the glasses and the important things like the venue and the food were top notch and well thought out.

Thank you for all you did to make it a memorable weekend!

It was great to see everyone who was there. Since Samantha is keeping this website going, as you come across others from our class let them know to sign up so they don't miss the next one!

There were so many of us there this weekend from the Dallas / Fort Worth area, it would be a shame to let that go to waste. I have been fairly active in the UTEP Alumni group in the North Texas area over the years and it's always nice to get together with folks from "home". I've started a Google Group for Irvin Alumni living in the DFW area, intended for graduates of any Irvin class. I'll specifically invite those whose email addresses I personally have. Please pass this on to others you may know who live in the DFW area. Once we have a big enough group going, I'd like to see us do an annual picnic at least. Also, if there is interest, we can probably reach out to the Irvin guidance counselors and offer to mentor any students from Irvin that decide to attend a university in the area. To join, put your email in the box below Google Groups Subscribe to rockets_in_dfw Email: Visit this group

Hello Everyone,
I truly had a blast! To think I almost didn't attend. I'm sure glad I did. Seeing everyone brought back some great memories and new memories were made. I still can't believe that I've know some of you for 33 years.
Look forward to keeping in touch with you all.
Girls, you know who you are, thanks for making me crack up when "steve" came by. That was hilarious. I don't want to know how you will top that one. LOL!!!

Thank you Samantha and Lory you did an awesome job.

Thank you Sam and Lori for bringing us back together. We all had a wonderful time. It took me a couple of days to recover from Friday. It had been a while since I've gotten home at 4am. I hope everyone continues to keep in touch with each other as much as possible and I know that no one went home disappointed, it was a very memorable reunion. KUDOS!!!! MY FRIENDS......

Samantha and Lori, just have to agree with everyone...it was great. Even after the 15 hour drive home, I'd do it again. My girls had a blast at Adventure Zone. I now know I'm in major trouble when they REALLY start driving. Take care everyone......we'd like to see you at the 25th.

I think a great time was had by all! (even me.) ;)
I know I didn't get around to saying hello to everyone - I'm still an introvert; some things don't change too much with the passage of time.
I woke up this morning thinking about this: it seems that you all remember much more than I can. I'm sure (to you) I stuck out as the odd kid; (to me) I was trying very hard to be invisible and/or just survive another day. I have to ask for your patience because my remembered experiences often aren't inclusive of interpersonal / social things that were going on.
