Two days after graduation I escaped El Paso and went to the Dallas area and Univ. of North Texas. After 1/2 a semester, I determined I knew everything and quit college. In 1991, I moved to S. California and lived with my Dad. I got job working in a Suncoast Motion Pict. Co. store in Mission Viejo. After a year, I got my own store in Riverside. It didn't take long for me to yearn for Texas and I finally got my wish in Jan. 1994. However, I had to pay a price for ever leaving TX--3 months in Laredo. Eventually I was transferred to Austin and then to Plano (DFW) in 1995. That Oct. I hired a Christmas temp who would eventually become my wife. Along the way, I became a Christian. Sheila was saved just before we got married and Dante accepted Christ in Feb. 2006. Soon after Dante was born in 99, I quit my job at Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up to raise my son and write. My first novel stunk, but my second one did get published. Currently, I'm working on getting a freelance writing business going. Sheila is half Italian and still has family there and we've made 3 trips to Italy. I enjoyed both the history and the food (especially the food). I also got to go to Israel for 2 weeks in 2005. Among current activities, I coach my son's football team (now going on the 6th yr) and I'm finally working on finishing my degree (the 26-yr plan). I'm taking classes (mostly online) from Dallas Baptist Univ.Overall, things have not turned out the way I planned 20 years ago, but I certainly have no reason to complain!!
