Jaime Ortiz

After high school I attended UTEP for a semester before being involved in a serious car accident that left me diabled. After regaining my health I continued my education and earned a master's degree in civil engineering. While working on my master's I did some tutoring and decided to give teaching a chance. I taught high school math at Parkland for five years, and in 2001 I went on to pursue my career in engineering. I left El Paso for Arlington Texas and got involved in the building industry and got my professional engineering license in 2004. I also met my wife that year and we married in 2005. Best decision I ever made.

As I'm sure you all know, I was a party animal in high school, but I've toned it down a bit since then. Although I still enjoy a drink or two, or three,... What most of you don't know is that I was very shy when I was young, but I am so over that now. I had a huge crush on Olga Diaz, but didn't have the guts to ask her out. So Olga, if you're out there, give me a buzz, j/k. Happily married, remember. My favorite teacher was Miss Shepard, and I had a crush on her too.
