I wasn't sure where to go for college, so I went to SIC on a v-ball scholarship the first year and student ambassador scholarship the 2nd year. While at SIC, I was an AmeriCorps member at Eldorado Middle School. I loved that job. I was basically an in-school tutor and mentor, and I picked up additional hours coaching cheerleading and volleyball. I continued majoring in Finance at SIUE Edwardsville on a Provost's scholarship. I loved it there, but I was torn between Business and Teaching. After graduating from SIUE with a Finance degree, I moved back to Harrisburg and worked as an investment advisor consultant for Southern Illinois Healthcare's Retirment Plan for around 3 years before leaving to student teach and follow my heart. I moved to Warrensburg, MO (a college town) near Whiteman Airforce Base (home of the B2 bomber) and Kansas City, in order to teach middle school students in August 2007.
