Paul and I attended SUNY Farmingdale together, taking turns driving to school. Paul worked all summer after high school on his 55 Chevy, only to total it out on the way home during the first week at Farmingdale. We enjoyed each other’s company while attending Farmingdale, but I was concerned about the amount of alcohol he consumed. After entering the military, I would visit Paul and family on occasion, when visiting my parents in Elmont. Paul and family visited us in Florida twice and I believe he was in his late 30’s when he left his wife and two young boys behind. There was nothing phony about Paul, he lived his life his way.
