SHARON WAS THE GUIDING FORCE OF THE CLASS OF '62. SHE INSPIRED CLASS UNITY LONG AFTER WE WALKED THE HALLS OF EMHS...OUR REUNIONS, LUNCHEONS AND ALUMNI COMMITTEE WOULD NOT HAVE EXISTED WITHOUT HER. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL OF US AND WE WILL REMEMBER HER WITH LOVE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME....

WE ALUMNI WILL ALWAYS HAVE SHARON IN OUR HEARTS

Sharon has done more for our class than any other of the 272 of us who graduated in 1962. I never really stayed in touch with my classmates over the years, but when I “reconnected” with Judy Mathews I attended the 40th & 50th reunions. Sharon took the lead and started our tri-monthly luncheons in Dec. 2012. Judy & I haven’t missed one of these since they began & it’s been wonderful getting to “re-know” some of our friends from “back in the day.” At these great luncheons we never know who’s going to “walk in the door” & we’ve been pleasantly surprised a number of times by Steph, Jay, Marge, Judy, Fred, Linda & other “non locals.” This wonderful tradition is all due to the personal efforts of Sharon. This web site that has kept us connected is also solely due to Sharon’s long hours & hard work. I’m very happy that our annual scholarship to deserving students has been renamed the EMHS 1962 Sharon O’Neill Scholarship & that her name & memory will be recognized in perpetuity. Since Sharon’s loss donations to this scholarship fund have been pouring in & I encourage all my classmates to consider making a donation periodically in ANY amount. I could go on & on about how much Sharon has meant to me personally & to our entire class as a group. Suffice it to say that her memory will remain in our collective hearts forever!

Sharon was a very special lady. I have great respect for her, with all her efforts bringing our classmates together, for so many years. Sharon would always answer my emails, usually within a few minutes of me sending them. The original B&W photos of Sharon on her profile (flight attendant and yearbook photo) were in need of freshening up, so I enhanced them with Photoshop and sent them back to Sharon for her to use. I wanted her beauty to show through. Fortunately, I was able to speak to Sharon for a few seconds, a few days before we lost her. I will miss that sweet, talented lady.

I was so saddened to hear of Sharon's passing.  I thought she would be with us for a much longer time. We would talk on the phone from time to time and I always enjoyed our conversations. We were friends in HS and then with all the reunions were able to reconnect.  She was never far from my mind and I would think I should call Sharon and see how she is doing.  I know she missed Kenny very much.  I just want to say Sharon will remain in my thoughts and I will always remember her as being smart, funny, caring and a good friend. May she rest in peace knowing that she had a positive impact on all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

I did not really know Sharon we basically ran in different circles, but when she set up website, I had a difficult time getting on line so I called her, and probably spoke more with her then I did in 6years in EMHS...but I know she put great efforts in reunions and her friends had great admiration for her....rest in peace Sharon...
