I know you can contact others and tell them about this web sight. I spent 40 minutes on the computer the other day and was able to locate 5 class mates. Just a little work and we could have a big reunion. GET OFF YOU BACK SIDE and put down your remote.

A little something for those of you that have moved away. There is no longer a Flood Jr. High/Middle School, and Sinclair Jr. High/Middle School was renamed Englewood Middle School.

This is a great site to remember past shared events, renew friendships, and make new bonds with people you have never spoken to.

There is nothing to fear. Who knows you might even enjoy it. It is really fun reconnecting with fellow classmates.

Just seeing your messages back and forth is too funny! Nice to see that you're getting psyched for July already! K - Dale, I'll check my albums (honest, I've been carting them around for 40 [geez!] years) and see what dusty, musty titles I can come up with! 8*)

I remember someone streaking outside on the football field at an EHS graduation. I believe it happened at my brother's graduation in 1974. Does anyone else remember what year?

Some things I remember:

The city park and swimming pool before Cinderella City was built.

There was a dairy farm just south of Belleview and Broadway.

Heller's Meat Market
Cherrylyn Drug Store
South Side Feed
A & A Trading Post

The dairy farm was Brookridge Farms. When I was little we would get fresh cream there and spend what I thought was hours curning butter. The farm was where Brookridge Shopping Center is and Burt Chevy all the way back where the old GEM store was.
Anyone remenber the K-mart catching fire and all the ammo in the gun deptartment keep exploding. The fireman just stood back and let it burn.

Lookin' Out My Back Door, Creedence Clearwater Revival
Patches, Clarence Carter
He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, He's My Brother, Hollies
I'm Losing You, Rare Earth

My mom also took us to the dairy farm to buy dairy products. I remember later that a dairy company started delivery of milk & eggs to your door and left them in a wooden milk box. Then later they delivered milk in a huge card board milk with a dispenser (like the ones wine comes in). I had three brothers so we went through several milk cartons a week.

I lived just North of Belleview off Broadway & Sherman. I remember the night when K-Mart caught on fire. No one could save the animals in the pet department and the ammo and paint cans did explode.

Does anyone remember the South Platte River flood back in 1965 in Littleton to Denver. Did a lot of damage. I remember visiting one of my father's friends and his house was full of mud.

02/07/10 10:59 AM #25

Kathy Johnson (Epps)

Remember the flood. I believe that is started by a tornado up the river and then rain. My sister was at her boyfriend house on the other side of the river and couldn't get home.

02/07/10 12:48 PM #26

Nancy J Brown (Graf)

At least that's the story your sister was sticking to! Just kidding.

In the 4900 block there was a trailer park on the East side of Broadway. Between the backyards of the neighbor's houses, there was a dirt trail that we used to walk the one long block to Belleview either to the Big Top store to buy gum and candy or across Belleview to the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in the Brookridge shopping center.

Dale, I also remember a inside swimming pool with a glass roof that was south of the dairy farm near to where one of the car dealerships was. Do you remember that?

Is the outdoor ice skating rink off Belleview across from Belleview Park still operating? In the winter, I went ice skating every weekend.

I remember that the sales tax was only 3% at the SouthGlenn Shopping Mall because it was an unincorporated section. Is that still the case?

Wow, a lot of memories. Englewood was a great place to grow up. This kind of information really dates us.
