Hi Tobi,

The first picture you posted on Old Friends looks like Larry Tressler arm wrestling with Ed Patterson.

The women look familiar, but I can not come up with a name. Perhaps the rest of you will have an idea.

Tobi Keller (Nelson)

The arm wrestlers are Larry Tressler and John Miller, I think. The dancer on the basketball court is Stan Romero. The Charley's Aunt ladies include Marta Maxwell and Verleen Creed. I'll try to upload more soon. It's fun remembering.

OK, I remember the fight song, but does anyone else remember the Alma Mater song?

All hail to thee, dear Englewood, our Alma Mater true.
We will ever pledge allegiance to your colors, white and blue.
May your banner always guide us, whate'r our task may be.
Now sing we all, both great and small,
Hail, all hail, to thee.

And as far as music goes, how about In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, by Iron Butterfly?

Gosh you guys. This has been a little work, but amazingly easy to put together. Thanks for yur kudos, though. If anyone is interested in helping search for folks, let me know and I'll send along 5 or so names with the info we have so far. I figure lots of folks will make the work go quicker. It's fun reading the back and forth communication.

This is the way I remember our fight songs.
(Not very impressive lyrics, really)

Cheers, cheers for Englewood High.
We always win and we always try.
Get that ball and make that score.
That is all right, but we want more.
We're always winning, we never fall.
We've got the men and we've got the ball.
We'll fight them (or "We will fight"?)with all our might,
So come on, you Pirates, fight!

Come on Englewood, come on Englewood,
Fight right through that line.
With your colors flying high,
You'll win them every time, rah, rah, rah
Come on Englewood, come on Englewood,
Fight for future fame.
Fight fellas, fight, fight, fight,
We'll win this game!

The Beatles were still on the top of their game, and I loved the Association, with songs like Cherish, Windy, Never My Love and our class song, Enter the Young.

I, too, thank my long time, beautiful friend, Tobi. She has done a GREAT favor to all of us creating this site! GO TOBI!

My favorite song:
"Spirit in the Sky" is a song written and originally recorded by Norman Greenbaum. I told my sons that this is the song I want played at my memorial service with people rockin' in the aisles.

What can we do to convince all of you to join us? We are working SO hard on this reunion, you really don't want to miss it! WE WANT YOU TO COME! PLEASE! Also, if you are in touch with anyone that hasn't signed up yet on this site, could you please give them the scoop and help us locate our classmates?

So proud to be a member of this class!

Jan

Hi Nancy,

Did you post this website to Sandy?

02/22/10 11:14 AM #75

Nancy J Brown (Graf)

Hey Niki,

Yes, I forwarded this site on to Sandy and Marc Freed. Sandy and I may be flying out together the week before the reunion. She will send on to Tim McCreary.

Those of you that are on FaceBook could post this information to a greater audience.

Let's keep the momentum going!
