John Hermos actually made this in the Engle Street Jr. High School shop class. It has not been in his attic but has been used for about 65 years. John says: "Shop was [one] of the most useful courses ever, despite a rather intimidating teacher, Mr. Guyler.  I’d put typing in High School in that category too."
