After Mater Dei, I went to USI and graduated with degrees in psychology and nursing. I married a wonderful man, Scott Leatherland, in 1995, and we have a handsome, energetic son named Austin. Scott was a "Bando" at Reitz High School, and he and his friend, Tim Deem,
have a band website called "Simplyinstrumental.com". Marching Band season is a very busy time for this household because they go to several Band contests to take pictures and post results on their website. Not only am I a "football widow", but also a "Band widow". However, Austin keeps me very busy so there is never a dull moment!
I have worked in several different places as a nurse such as cardiology, management in nursing homes, subacute care unit, and now Newborn intensive care staff nurse at St. Mary's Medical Center. I have been there since 2003, and I absolutely love it. Unless I win the lottery, I hope to retire there. I work 12 hour night shifts, 7pm to 7am, so friends and family usually get my answering machine because I sleep odd hours.
In my "spare" time, I love to read, play on my lap top, dabble a little in gardening, knit and crochet in the winter months, and play with my 3 cats.
