Sean Merriman

I've stayed in Fairbanks since graduating and have been in college for most of the last decade. I completed two bachelor's degrees at UAF (B.A. in English with Japanese minor in 2012, B.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry most recently in December 2017).

Other things... I earned a blackbelt in karate in 2013... I took up electric guitar and electronic music programming as a hobby right after graduating from West Valley... and as of a year ago am now a fanatical snowboarding addict.

Starting August 2018, I'll be leaving home for the first time in my entire life to begin pursuit of a PhD in the Cell and Molecular Biology program at CSU in Ft. Collins, Colorado. As of summer 2018, I'm working as a lab tech at UAF to save some cash before my new academic adventure begins.

High school was pretty damn lame for me. I worked hard, but kind of just hated everything back then. It's sort of amusing to think about that period, but I can't say I have any fond memories of it. More misery than anything else, LOL.

Things since then have been both worse and better at times, with the current date probably being the best. It's taken me awhile (and some hardship) to decide on a purpose for my life, but I think I've more or less finally found it in science. Consider me a mad scientist in training.

I don't do any of the social media stuff. So other than through this site, it's pretty hard to track me down.
