David died of a heart attack several years ago, hiking with his sons' Boy Scout troop in New Mexico. I corresponded briefly with his widow and sent a photocopy of the 1970 yearbook to her to show her boys, and told her how much David was respected and liked by his classmates. I seem to recall that he was a scientist at Los Alamos.

A kind and gentle man.

I remember he was funny too. He used to work in the concession stands at the football games with us. I always liked and admired him.

David was in my Economics class my Senior year and there were only 2 girls out of 16 in the class. I had to give a report one day and was so terrified. David told me to look at him during my presentation and I would be fine, and you know what I did okay. He was always so supportive and sooo very smart! He was a pleasure to talk with. Take care. My first introduction to Dave was freshman year at Central Jr. High. He was my lab partner in Science and explained the combustion engine to me...my head hurt for a week. He could be quite a talker if the subject was interesting to him.

David stands out in my memory, at the time, as having been the smartest human being on Earth. And the gentlest.

David saved my life in chemisty class. In 15 minutes he helped me with my finall exam. I was working on the problem for a month. I would have flunked with out his help. Nice guy.
