Erich Hummel

    Erich Paul Hummel was born June 19, 1961 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Lowell and Luanna Roberts Hummel.  He died Sept 24, 2007 at the age of 46 years, 2 months, and 25 days at Anna Sundermann Home in Seward.  He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Daykin and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury on March 23, 1975.

    He attended elementary school at District 72, intermediate and high school in Fairbury, and graduated from high school in Oahu, Hawaii. He graduated from Milford Technical College and was employed at Telex in Lincoln.  He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany.

    He married Barbara Warren on Aug. 31, 1995.  They resided in Lincoln.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Alma Blobaum Hummel, parents; brother Michael and uncle, Jim Smith.

    Suvivors include his wife, sister-in-law Lucy Hummel of Lincoln; aunt Marlys Smith of Overland Park, Kan.; aunt and uncle, Ron and Elaine Royuk of Seward; cousins and many friends.

    Services were Sep. 28, 2007 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Schmidt officiating.  Music was provided by Ron Royuk.  Pallbearers were Bill Smith, Stephen Smith, Brent Royuk, Harold Pester, Michael Scott, and Brian Bolbaum.  Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetary in Daykin.
