Mrs Lynam always had Tom and I work together as a team in Social Studies since our political views were so completely different, but we managed to always respect eachother. Our team presentations usually made the class, and Mrs Lynam, crack up.

He had a fantastic wit, lots of insight, and was a genuinely GOOD person. I was crushed when I heard he had died.

I could barely keep up in that social studies class with Mrs. Lynam, but I, too, remember Tom and his understanding of politics and how governments work.  And, I agree, Tom was one of those rare individuals who was warm and friendly, intelligent without being over bearing.  I had respect for him.  And, I was sorry to hear he was gone.  A loss for us because I wonder where he would be today...

Tom and I worked together at Friendly's Restaurant at Eastview Mall.  I heard of his death on the news that sad December night in 1988.  He was a close friend and my first secret love....I never told him.  I Miss you, Tom!

Tommy's mom and mine were close friends. Hence, our family was close with his family.

Tommy transferred to St. Bonaventure and it was there that our friendship really became like famlly. He was a brother to me.

After my family moved to Boca Raton, at the beginning of my Sophomore year at SBU, I would go home with Tommy and spend long weekends at the Staskus' home because I couldn't fly home over Fall Break or long weekends. We spent a great deal of time together and I loved him like I loved John/Frank.

On all of the rides we took together, either in Olean or from Bonas to Rochester,  I always  tried to convince him to wear his seatbelt. He hated wearing it. He simply never would!! Even when Tommy witnessed with me- when my boyfriend had been in an horrific accident our senior year at Bonas- car totaled- and the ONLY reason he was "okay" the paramedics confirmed was because he was wearing his seatbelt.

I prayed that I could have convinced him to wear his everyday, every ride.

I loved him and miss him every day. December 3rd. I will never forget that day, Tommy. I love and miss you. December 3rd, the day you went to Heaven and I how I wished I told you how much I loved you. December 3rd- the day, years later, my Rosary Beads turned from blue incandescent to clear- with red spots... I know it is an extra blessing from God they turned colors on the anniversary of your arrival to Heaven. I love and miss you.
