Comments:

Greetings from the North-Alaska. I have to say, moving here has been an experience I have enjoyed. I have been teaching in the Mat-Su Valley since 2001 and I love it. My students are great and I enjoy working with them. The people of Palmer/Wasilla are great. They are friendly and always willing to lend a hand when you need some help. Besides that, the weather and landscape are always unique. Long sunny and fairly warm summer days(too short sometime) and cold, dark and beautiful winters. Seeing the Northern Lights, hiking mountain trails and watching wildlife outside my door always make for some interesting daily living. Getting away from the busy world can makes me feel relaxed and at home. I do love living in the area and I enjoy working with great people.

With all that, I do miss Ohio and I visit my family and friends when I can. It can be hard not to keep in touch with people you have spent many years with and I try to keep in touch. I don't know if I would ever want to move back to Ohio to live, but visiting is always enjoyable.

School Story:

I don't have too many stories that I can remember. I do remember many of my classes and teachers that I learned so much from. Mrs. Meyers asking me to try to "pay attention" in music theory and to stop being annoying. Ms. Morris and her constant pushing me to work harder in LA. Mr. Kinat working with me in band class to try to be a better trumpet player. Mr. Storm and his always unique experiment in chemistry and the fact that I was not always the best student. Of course there are many other staff members that help me succeed at what I have been able to do.

I remember our "Red day" event as freshman (which if memory serves me correctly, we won) and how crazy it was. Watch many of our sport teams giving all they got on the court/field/or any other place. I remember freezing our rears off to sit in back of a truck during one of the city levies for the school district in November and riding around town playing to drum up support for our schools.

Lots of great things, lots of interesting times. I guess this is what happens when you get old.

My Home in Palmer, Alaska (near Hatcher Pass). This is Spring (4/5/21). We have had about 5-6 feet of snow this winter and none of it has melt by this point. Welcome to the North.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago (home of Steel Drums-Yeah Mah!) with some of my steel drum students in Feb. 2019. At least it was warm (Alaska was -5 that day).
