Mary Helen Marty Childers Davis

In the fall of 1964, I knew that there was no way college was in my future due to the lack of money. When I was involved in a car wreck that came within a hair of taking my right eye, I decide to borrow the money and go to college. I graduated from Harding in 1970 with a B.A. in Elementary Education (thanks to the influence of Mrs. Grady Nabors). I ended up teaching in Fulton, Mississippi instead of Florida because Mother suffered a stroke. She died my first day in the classroom on August 27, 1970 at the age of 47.

I met Mickey Davis in Fulton and we married and have 3 wonderful daughters. Mickey is a custom home builder and a dreamer so we moved to Texas and he built and I finished up a 28 year teaching career. We lived in Allen for 21 years and moved to Celina, Texas for 4 years in a (one of a kind) red barn house with a catfish pond, snakes, a Karaoke stage, and a Gator for the grandkids to ride. We sold our property in Celina and are building in Fairview, Texas. Mickey designed us a house with white painted brick that looks like an old home place with a swing on the front porch. You feel as though you are at grandma's. It's between Allen and McKinney, Tx.
