Professionally, I've always worked in TV and video (news, advtersing, original programming, kids shows, corporate communications) and I LOVE IT! I went to college knowing exactly what I wanted to do (thanks to that aptitude bubble test they made us take at Mercy our Junior year paired with Econ Class - was that Ms. Ewald?? - that made me pick a career to shadow for my final project), and I've never switched gears. I attended the University of South Carolina (go Gamecocks!) freshman year, ultimately transferring to and graduating from MSU in Telecommunications.
I have a great network of friends, both old and new, which is one nice advantage to still living in Michigan. (I was in Chicago at a TV station for a while until 10 years ago and I was recently debating whether I'd move again). I still LOVE going out on the town, dancing and seeing concerts, although I'm also spending a lot of time with my family. If any of you remember my wonderfully-cool parents, Fran & Frank, they still live in Northville and I see them often. My dad is unfortunately in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's Dissease, so life is feeling a lot more bittersweet lately. Because of this, I have decided to stay in Michigan and lend all the love and support I can to my fabulous family who has always been there for me (which, as you know, has not always been an easy thing to do! LOL).
I am also recently divorced, after having been married 2.5 years. I am renting a house in Birmingham, working my butt off to get back on my feet, reading a LOT, and generally getting to know myself as I watch myself go through life-altering changes. Thankfully, I have always enjoyed self analysis and reflection, so I'm finding this latest chapter of my life fascinating. The way I look at it is, hey, the world is my oyster - who knows will I'll go!
I'll be at the reunion and I'll be the one dancing!
