I went to college for four years at UNC-G and then returned to Fayetteville. I have been teaching school for 16 years now here in Fayetteville. I've taught 6th, 3rd, 1st, Kindergarten, and Reading. This year I'm back in Kindergarten again. (I have taught the children of some of our classmates...Shannon Raper's son(now Shannon Hancock) and also Gina Griffin's daughters.)
My parents both passed away, Dad in 1998 and Mom in 2007. Both my brothers are married and have a boy and girl each. John lives here in Fayetteville. Jim lives in Reidsville. We get together whenever we can.
I gave my life to Jesus Christ in July 1996. I began doing missionary work in July 2000. I have traveled all over Latin America, especially concentrating in Cuba and Venezuela among other countries. I have been on 30 mission trips in total. I am so blessed to be a school teacher and therefore have all the holidays and summers to travel. I've been to Cuba, Venezuela, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras, Dominican Republic, New York, and China. Each trip has unique tales of their own. I've done all kinds of ministry...clown, door-to-door evangelism, open air crusades, VBS (Vacation Bible School), worked with youth groups and praise and worship teams, and l taught evangelism and leadership training classes.
My life goal now is to never meet someone and them not know that I know Jesus and they can too! If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please do so. He is the only one who can save you. If you have questions, just ask me!
I teach evangelism classes through my church and sing on the praise and worship team for both the English and the Spanish services. I love it.
There is nothing like being in His Presence!
News Update: I got married to Mario Travieso in January 2012. He is the worship pastor in Cuba. We will be returning to Cuba to do missionary work for the rest of my life or for as long as God desires.
