We are being put to shame by the class of 88'. Those clowns are chatting 24x7.

Somebody tell a joke or something (ha).

Did everyone have a nice holiday? We had a great Christmas, we didn't have to do a lot of running around which was nice. My youngest got a Wii so we have had a lot of fun playing that. Ya know you're old though when your shoulder hurts after playing golf and bowling on a video game-lol. Of course we like to act as though we are literally playing and get a little overdramatic with our moves-it's more fun that way though, we get to make fun of one another-lol.
Hope to hear from you all soon, at least someone-lol. Yeah Jamie the class of '88 is making us look bad!

Hi Nikki.. we got a Wii too for Christmas and let me just say my 4 year old is kicking my A at bowling!! How do they pick up on these things so fast?! ha-ha

On another note, I missed out on the recent holiday gatherings since we were out of town, etc and I'd love it if we could plan something again. I noticed the class of '88 had a pretty neat idea. Would anyone be up for a couples night out? The cosmic bowling thing they are doing sounds really fun or whatever else there is to do in Festus (sorry I've not been back in a while). We could meet in South County if that's more convenient too. I've had sick kids all week so I am up for any excuse for a night out (ha). No - but seriously it would be great to see old classmates again. Any takers?

Hi Debbie. Have you done the Wii fitness level yet? This is a little embarassing but the first time I did it my "Wii age" was like 80 something. I'm down to 26 now, but it took a while-lol. Have you played the "American Idol" game? It is really a lot of fun, especially because I cannot sing at all, but as long as you know the words and hit the pitch you get great reviews. It's really funny to hear Simon say I'm a great singer. If only he could hear me in person-just ask Jodie- it's BAD!
I think a night out would be great! I'm up for bowling. Is there a cosmic bowl @ Quonset? There are 2 bowling alleys in my area. One in Bonne Terre that just opened over Christmas break. I've not been there but my daughter has been and she said it's really cool. I don't think that one has cosmic, but the one in Farmington does. They may be a little too far for everyone though. Anyway, getting together sounds fun.

I'm 21 on the Wii fit. If only I still had that 21 year old physique. My guess I can trick the we sports folks like Nikki can trick Simon. Tracy and I would be up for a night out. We just have to make sure we have someone to coral our clan.

what is cosmic bowling?

01/12/09 10:12 PM #87

Debbie Schwent (Arehart)

We don't have Wii fit yet... just Mario Kart and Wii Sports but would love to get it. American Idol sounds fun. I hear rock band is too.

Richard..cosmic bowling is bowling but with the lights turned down and music playing... or at least that's what they do up here. It's really fun even if I'm not so good at bowling...lol. I thought I read that Quonset has it. I could call and check. We don't have to do that either. We could do something else.

I'm wondering who is still checking the message forum? Would love to see everybody. Maybe we should shoot an email.

Debbie,
The Wii fitness challenge is on Wii sports, you can do training and also fitness challenge. I didn't know it was on there until about a week ago when my daughter showed me. I am wanting the Wii Fit also, we got one for my mother-in-law for Christmas, but I don't think she's had time to try it yet. I need it before the reunion to get rid of this extra 15 lbs I'm carrying around-lol. We have started going to the gym and man am I feeling OLD!

Down here (in Farmington) they turn down the lights and turn on the blacklights for cosmic bowling. I think they also turn on strobe lights or disco lights. It's pretty fun.

thanks debbie i am not that good at bowling but it sounds fun

i got the boys guitar hero world tour its like rock band and they think it is the best i will have to admit i play the crap out of it they have great songs a lot from when we were kids its funny my youngest sons favorite song is livin on a prayer i had to laugh he had no idea that song is as old as it is

Nikki Dollar (Fincher)

Hi Richard. That's funny that "Livin on a Prayer" is your son's favorite song, that's also my favorite on Wii American Idol-lol. I love it when new bands do remakes of 80's songs and my girls love the song because they are always makin fun of me for listening to '80's music. When they find out that I know the song they get mad. Some country singers just remade "life in a northern town" and the girls flipped when I told them it was a remake. It's funny they think we're SO old. Of course, I thought my parents were old and uncool, but they were and I'm not-LOL!!

Pete, if your 21 on the Wii Fit then I am John Holmes. The Wii fit wouldn't even register me. I need to lose some more weight. Lost 100lbs in 2004 and gained back about 40 of it. Crap!!!

We have Wii and the family kicks on Rock Band. I'm an expert singer. Trish and Korryn are on guitar and Zach is on drums.
I'll be in town on the 23rd to close on a house. Anyone going to be around for a beer. It will just be me, Trish is staying home with the kids. LOM

Hey gang - good to read all the chatter! Sorry I missed the xmas gathering I'm sure it was fun.
Richard - Rock Band is great - drums are my fav too or singing....totally stink at guitar - my 11 yr old nephew repeatedly kicks my butt!
Laum - hope you and Trish had a good Xmas.
Nicki - how are Lenny and kids?

I can't believe I didn't mention the TP wars we use to have. And forking! Who can forget forking???

01/14/09 11:44 PM #96

Terry Gross

only time i played the rock band thing is at walmart but like everyone else to me it easier to play the drums. thou i have played a little on a real guitar and it depends on what song it is to if i can sing it. ome times i can bea white barry white. lol

Terry Gross

I go to work and see some of the kids goofing around and wonder did we all act like that were we all that inmature at times. i dont have any known kids so i dont know what the kids thrive for these days

01/15/09 03:04 PM #98

Nikki Dollar (Fincher)

Richard- yes life in a northern town was remade by sugarland and some others. Crazy isn't it??? I love hair nation, but only get to listen while by myself-lol. I guess we are going to have to invest in Rock Band. Sounds like everyone is having a blast with it.
Tammi- lennie and the girls are great. Kylie will be 14 in march and going to High School next year which really is freaking me out- mainly b/c I remember how I acted in high school-lol. I saw your mom not too long ago, she looks the same-beautiful as always. Hope you and your family are doing well.

Pat- the teepee wars were great!! I took the girls and their friends this year. They had a blast getting some of their friends and even a few teachers-at least they didn't get shot at. Does anyone remember whose dad shot into the air?? It was out in R-7 I believe. Oh to be young again....

Terry- yeah we were that immature. I can remember getting kicked out of Venture for playing football in the toy aisles. Can't remember who all was there, but I'm thinking it was like 7th grade?? I'm thinking Sherman Smith was there- has anyone heard from him? We should invite him to be on this board even though he moved. I know the class of '88 has a lot of members that moved before graduation.

01/15/09 04:07 PM #99

Richard Lewis

Nikki-i dont remember playing football at venture but sure played a lot of hide and seek and got tossed out a few times I got my kids hooked on hair nation so we get a lot of "hair" time My oldest is 16 and in high school so yes it freaks you out a little but it gets better at least i hope. The mother curse works by the way. I'm sure you know the curse; I hope you have kids that are exactly like YOU!

01/15/09 10:20 PM #100

Nikki Dollar (Fincher)

No Richard I'm not sure I know what the mother curse is. And I hope my girls are way better than I was. I know I will be doing a lot of praying though!!

01/16/09 08:25 PM #101

Richard Lewis

Nikki-the mother curse is the last sentence in my post "I hope you have kids that act just like you" thats the mother curse, well my mom at least
