After high school lived in Phoenix for almost a year going to refrigeration school ( tech school ) then moved back to Flagstaff and kept working for my dad doing a/c work. Married for about a year right out of high school and then divorced. Hung out in Flagstaff doing a/c work and started off road racing.
Julie Abert and me got married in Flagstaff and then moved over here to Dolan Springs in the middle of no where in 2001.
At first we were both driving into Vegas to work. Julie was a legal secraty for 7 years in Vegas and when her boss closed his practice she started working from home doing legal transcribing.
I was doing heating and a/c starting as a forman and then superintendant and then moved up to estimator with a nationwide a/c company.
I started off road racing with a team in Vegas and ended up going to work selling race car parts for them also about 2 1/2 years ago. Loved it but just didn't have enough time for the family. We race 3 different series, SCORE and BITD where I ride with Pat Dean and SNORE were I get to drive sometimes. That takes up 20 something weekends a year for the races and then when we race the Baja races we are down there for usualy a week prerunning before the race. Then working 10 hours a day, week days and some Saturdays in the retail store in Vegas and it is a 1 1/2 hour drive each way from home to Vegas so that was another 3 hours a day driving. I loved doing race car stuff full time and maybe if I was younger and didn't have a family I would have stayed there but when the twins were born I decided family was more important and I switched things agian and went to work for the local Fire Department as a fire fighter / EMT and love it. I took the chance on a complete career change mid life two times and during this bad economy the second time and got lucky and wish I would have went to work for a fire department years ago! Maybe the whole adriniline junky thing has something to do with it? I still race with the team just don't work there full time now. With the fire department full time is 10, 24 hour shift's a month so it leaves lots of family time. They pay is less for now until I get more certifications, training and work my way up so I own two small LLC companies. First one is doing race car prep ,fabrication, hot rods and stuff like I did for fun in Flag and second is a backhoe and dumptruck service to make up the difference in money from Vegas to Dolan. Still leaves me lots of family time and I get to race so it is the best of both worlds. Very busy with 8 month old twins, 1 boy(Blaise) and 1 girl(Savannah) and a 3 year old girl(Katalina). Best things that ever happened to me! We had to do invetro to get pregant both times but well worth everything we had to go thru to get here.
Not sure what else to say, above covers most of the major stuff I have done since we left Flagstaff.
