Scholarship Campaign

Flint Northern Class of 1991 Alma Mater Scholarship

While thinking about the significance of a 20 year high school reunion, the idea of creating scholarship opportunities for deserving high school students was born.  Although reunions are designed for: fun, reconnecting with old friends and potentially forming new friendships, they can also be about leaving a positive impact for future generations, our class and the community from where our lives began.

There is an expression that states, "To whom much is given, much is required."  If media reports and popular opinion are to be believed, the fact that we are still alive, thriving and embarking upon our 20 year high school reunion celebration, is truly a miracle and a gift received.  As we prepare for our reunion, we have an opportunity to challenge ourselves to give a gift that will matter long after the memories of our reunion have begun to fade.

Possessing the ability to grant a high school graduate a helping hand by providing financial assistance through scholarships, will afford our class with more than a weekend full of partying, but the feeling of satisfaction because we partied for a purpose. During our time at Northern, our class was known for having fun, creative ideas and a desire to be the best at everything.

Take a moment to read through the scholarship projection listed below.  Some may argue that in these uncertain times, our scholarship goals are too ambitious.  I believe that all things are possible when we set a goal and work together to achieve it.  President Barack Obama has called all of us to service and to take personal responsibility for making our country and the world a better place.  This is an opportunity for the class of 1991 to collectively answer the call to serve.

In order to make our scholarship campaign a success, make a personal donation to the scholarship fund.  Donating as little as $5.00 can make a huge difference in us reaching our goal by the time of our class reunion in 2011.  If you are aware of companies, organizations or individuals who are looking for a worthy cause to support, please invite them to the reunion site.  All of the money collected will be used to award scholarships.
