1967        Guy Houston Stadium Completed

                Northwestern track meet named The C. S. Mott Relays in honor of Charles Stewart Mott
                Dr. Kenneth L. Fish named principal to replace Robert W. Rodda. Dr. Fish was faced with many challenges during the 1969-1970 school year                      due in part to demonstrations and disturbances sparked by racial tension.
                Northwestern starts the 1969-70 school year as the newest member of the Saginaw Valley Conference.  The Valley is split in Eastern and                            Western Divisions with Flint Central, Flint Southwestern, Midland, Bay City Central, and  Saginaw in the East and Flint Northwestern, Flint                            Northern, Pontiac Central, Saginaw Arthur Hill, and Bay City Handy in the West
1970        Luke Powers Catholic Central Becomes New Neighbor
                Carpenter Road Becomes A Four-Lane Highway
                Baseball team wins City Series Baseball Championship with no-hit 5-0 shutout pitched by Jim Purdy. Coach Jim Ralph

                Baseball team wins its 1st Saginaw Valley Conference Championship (Western Division)
1972        Joe Redmond named new football coach
                Shelby J. Cummings named principal replacing Dr. Kenneth L. Fish
                School starts 5-Period Day for the 1972-73 school year.  Students will have five consecutive class periods ending around 1PM; no lunch                              periods or study halls, and an optional sixth period for extracurricular activities and a limited number of academic courses.  This plan was                            adopted to curb student discipline problems associated with lunch periods and study hall.

2001        Sixty-two seniors were the last traditional class of Wildcats to graduate prior to Edison taking over the school. The name was changed to,                            Northwestern-Edison Community High School. Eylastine Green-Roberts, principal, ran the traditional and Edison program simultaneously.                            Edison students had a new dress code, longer school days, and different teachers and curriculum.  Class president, Dania Williams
2005        The Edison contract was not renewed and the Flint Community Schools resumed operations.
