I graduated from Purdue in 1973 with a degree in Mathematics. I decided to teach at first and taught ninth grade math atCross Keys Junior High from 1973-1977, back in my old school district. I literally married the girl next door to where I was living at the time, Kathy Bell, a 1967 Aquinas grad.We quickly had two sons and I found that I could no longer support my family on a teaching salary. I joined McDonnell Douglas in 1977 as an Engineering Planner and never looked back. Aerospace was a wonderful career for me and let my do a lot of travelling. We relocated to Patuxent River, MD from 1981-1983 to support the F-18 and AV-8B (Harrier) Flight Test programs. We added a another son to the mix in 1984! In 1986 we left St. Louis again for a career move to Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin)in Orlando, FL. Must have been something in the water, we had two more sons in Orlando, bringing the total to five boys. While there was never a dull moment with a family that size, I became somewhat bored with Florida, I know, hard to believe, right? I rejoined McDonnell Douglas in 1994, which then became part of Boeing a few years later. I truly enjoyed my career there. We made one last relocation to Los Angeles from 2002-2004 in order for me to gain an executive position.

When returning from LA, we located in the St. Charles area. Unfortunately, Kathy was diagnosed with stage IV Melanoma in Jun of 2009 and after a long, hard fought battle, succumbed in Apr of 2010. She was the heart of our family and I didn't know what the future held. I was blessed to find Dawn on-line on Christianmingle.com. She was living in Melbourne, FL about ten minutes from my oldest son, so I had a good excuse to go visit her. We hit it off from the very beginning and were married just 4 months later. At this age, we can't waste too much time! She has been a wonderful addition to our family, my sons and grandkids all adore her.

I retired from Boeing in 2013. Dawn and I enjoy our families, our church and our friends. We enjoying travelling and have gotten hooked on cruises although we have also done quite a bit of "land" travelling to our national parks. I enjoyed being on the McCluer Reunion Committee and have enjoyed putting together a number of local get togethers for our class since the 45th reunion.

In Oct, 2023, I unexpectedly lost my middle son Eric, age 39 who died in his sleep at home. The medical examiner was unable to tell us the cause of death, tox screen was totally negative. The second year grieving has not gotten any better than the first and maybe it never will. I miss him dearly and always will. It now makes time and memories with my other four sons that much more precious.

I attended Purdue University, graduating in 1973. I worked in the summers at Bellefontaine Cemetery cutting grass and power washing tombstones.

I walk 2.5 to 4 miles almost daily. Still do most of my own yard work. I have started paying more attention to my health and recently (Jan 2025) have lost about 20% of my weight. I enjoy going out with friends and family. And we love to travel, we have fallen in love with cruising and do several a year. We love live entertainment anywhere from local bands to shows at the Fox, etc. I enjoy music, but I'm not mired down in the just the older stuff from our generation, I enjoy listening to new stuff, anything that appeals to me. And I administer this web site.

In the early 80's I ran three marathons, best time of 3:27:15 at the Marine Corps Marathon.
