Homewood Grade School

After graduation I hung around home distressing my parents that I wasn't going to college. Finally, to their relief, with tears in our eyes, I left for Cleveland, Ohio ( the armpit of the nation ) and attended Case Institute of technology where I obtained a degree in electrical engineering. I went to work in New Jersey, breathing refinery byproducts for a year, living in Teterboro, and later in New Rochelle, New York. I was seeking to transport myself to California, home of the free etc, and finally got a job offer, and off I went. I have been here ever since, except when I went to live in Canada for four years because my then wife couldn't stand Dick Nixon. After living in BC for a few years she couldn't stand me, and she moved to Hawaii, and I moved back to the San Francisco Bay area. We had one son, who is now an adult, and he has one son, who is still a baby. I have continued my engineering career, now designing satellite hardware, the kind for NASA.

I was living in San Francisco during the seventies, and experienced the "summer of love" and various other strange phenomenum. I used to go to rock concerts given by now defunct but famous bands. Janice Joplin used to give concerts on the street outside my window, that sort of thing. Music was a big part of my life - I even sang with two friends and played guitar at my son's wedding. I co-founded a business, Strobotronix, that made psychedelic strobe lights, but my partner and I got into a tiff regarding my then girlfriend (whom I later married) and I dissolved the partnership. He resumed it and for all I know it remains today. We sold to some famous places, like the American Conservatory Theatre, and Bill Graham Presents. It was a lot of fun back then.

I remarried a very beautiful woman named Nancy. We each had a boy and lived in a variety of houses. Nancy got an RN and worked for the VA. Now we're in Sausalito and look at San Francisco bay from our windows.

We enjoy movies, dinners, Chihuahuas (Nancy) and working out daily at the gym (Me). If you think all Californians wear Hawaiian style clothes and talk like the girl in legally blonde, you're thinking of LA, not San Francisco.
