Steve Stout

I spent my first semester in college at Purdue and then transferred to GMI and co-oped at Buick. Carol Smith and I were married in 1966. We had a beautiful daughter, Catherine Ann, in 1971. I was working in the Quality Engineering Department at Buick until I left GM in 1972 to start my own business. Carol and I split in 1976 and in 1977 I began working for Merrill Lynch. I married Jayna Prentice in 1977 and we had a beautiful daughter, Amanda Marie, in 1979. I was a stockbroker for 22 years and retired in 1999. After a little more than a year, Jayna said I needed to get out of the house (in other words - her hair). We had built our own home in 1980 through Capp Homes and discovered a Michigan company, Pierson-Gibbs, doing the same thing. We decided to become sales reps and we've built almost 25 homes for them since 2001. Life is good. Cathy is a busy and successful social worker and recently became an Assistant Professor at SVSU. She and husband Matt have 2 wonderful girls and I love our "Papa/Nani Days". Manda now lives in Holland and is a well-known singer/songwriter in Europe and is gaining a name worldwide (www.amandasomerville.com). She got a record contract in early 2011 and her first CD under that contract come out November 1, 2011.

I got my pilots license in 1966. In 1987 & 1989 I set 3 world speed records in my Piper Malibu (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_PA-46).

We love to travel and visit Amanda in Europe regularly as well as destinations in the U.P., Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Kansas and California.
